One of the many factors that people take into consideration when deciding whether to schedule a chiropractor appointment is how that appointment will fit into their schedule. After all, if your situation requires multiple appointments per week, it’s important to find out how much time you’ll need to set aside. You may find yourself wondering, just how long is a chiropractic session?
Be aware that your very first appointment at Advanced Chiropractic & Wellness Center will be an initial consultation. Dr. Richard Schwartz will review your history, perform a brief physical exam, and test your range of motion with a variety of simple exercises and gentle stretches.
Due to the in-depth nature of this consultation, your first appointment will most likely be your longest. Plan on blocking off about an hour, which will give you plenty of time to complete all paperwork, complete the consultation, review next-steps, and come up with a treatment plan.
Depending on the nature of your pain, discomfort, or injury, subsequent visits may last longer at the beginning (though none will take as long as your initial consultation.) These visits may include adjustments, stretches, and potentially even brief massages or heat treatments.
As you progress on your path towards healing, your appointment times will slowly drop in duration (as well as frequency.) The ultimate goal is to get you to the point where you only need occasional adjustments to maintain your alignment and avoid future injury. These appointments could be as quick as answering a series of questions and being treated with a five minute adjustment.
