In a chiropractor’s office, no two patients are the same. Although there may be several people booking appointments for the same general purpose, the nature of each treatment varies from body to body. So, exactly how do chiropractors know where to adjust?
During your first visit at Advanced Chiropractic & Wellness Center, Dr. Richard Schwartz will discuss your medical history and the reason for your visit. It is during this time that he will perform an examination, measuring flexibility, checking your posture, identifying areas of pain, and discussing your short- and long-term health and wellness goals.
From here, he will develop a targeted treatment plan, which may include regular adjustments as well as appointments for massage or recommendations for rehabilitation. All of these recommendations will be based on your medical needs.
When it comes to an adjustment, Dr. Schwartz will gently glide and maneuver your spinal column to determine areas which may need to be lengthened or vertebrae that must be adjusted back into place. Some adjustments may extend to your limbs, and some may require gentle pressure be applied to help release tension for a thorough adjustment.
As he performs your adjustment, Dr. Schwartz will feel your body’s response to each treatment. You may find that he adjusts some of the same areas at every appointment, and sometimes he may add new adjustments or stretches to your regimen.
All of these treatments will come together to create a unique adjustment catered to your personal needs and your body’s path toward healing.
