Can A Chiropractor Help With Posture?

By December 29, 2020No Comments

can a chiropractor help with postureWe all heard it growing up. Our parents constantly telling us to “stand up straight,” “stop slouching,” or “watch your posture.”

Turns out, they were right. Bad posture is about more than just your appearance, it can actually have an adverse affect on your health.

The way you sat in your chair back at school or walked around the house is a big part of how you carry yourself now. Your posture while standing, sitting, and lying down can have a big impact on your health.

Unfortunately, bad posture is something that is hard to fix, especially when you’re not thinking about it. When you become accustomed to standing or sitting a certain way, it’s difficult to recognize when you’re doing it wrong. This is where a chiropractor can help.

At Advanced Chiropractic & Wellness Center in Ambler, Dr. Richard Schwartz can evaluate your posture issues and come up with a plan that will help realign your spine and set your posture straight.

Dr. Schwartz can discuss your history, including areas of pain which may be triggered by poor posture, and perform an assessment which measures your spinal arrangement and positioning against what is considered to be “standard.” He may perform several stretches and ask you to engage in a few exercises to determine exactly where the underlying issues may be.

From there, he will suggest the best treatment plan to help get your back on track, which may include regular adjustments, exercises, stretches, and other methods of restoring your posture.

Chiropractic therapy can help with a variety of posture issues, including damage to the normal curvature of your neck, mid-, or lower-back, hunchback, pelvic or hip unleveling, forward head posture, and scoliosis, among other problems that may be affecting your posture.

If you’re ready to get that perfect posture your parents always wanted you to have, we’re here to help. Click here to schedule an appointment with Advanced Chiropractic & Wellness Center.
